I do not think the new system on active trader is as easy to read. What are other users saying? sherry

Loved your CMO tip.....thanks - paid for your service many times over

I love this service, I will be a member for life unless I go bancrupt. The question I have is, how could someone get a list of the puts and calls recommended over time by stockwinners? SKX is at the bottom of its volatility band as defined by a Schaeffer writer. I write down most of the daily puts and calls but sometimes lose some of them. In my memory I think that skx was mentioned in the put-call section. I was thinking of going long given that this would be a third confirmation and for other reasons but I would be very disturbed if I remembered wrong and it was actually listed as a put!!

Thank you,
Steve

As one of your members for long time i enjoy your services and most of your picks. i placed a short position based on your buy recomendation on CHS. based on recent stock split , this stock is trading about $44.00. Have you ever steped in any of the stores ? how about take your wife or girlfriend for shopping there ? stock is worth not more than 13 or 15.

Is going up based on short positions and is so fake

Unemployment stats are a meaningless indicator. The real rate is generally twice as bad as reported, and of course there are all the self-employed and underemployed, part timers etc...at the same time benefits stop after so long so claims will fall. Several of the people receiving claims, claim to be looking for work when they are not. Well I guess it gives us the direction of the highway but take it with a grain of salt.

thank you for your website. keep up the good work! That doesn't mean 'raise the prices'. LOL

Thursday, November 14, 2002 2:40 AM

I believe that Stockwinners is the best service that I belong to. One thing that I feel could be improved is the commentary on whether the market is looking like it will go up or down on the following day. Another thing that I would find helpful is if the list of stocks under closing prices is combined with the list of stocks under Today's Picks. Under the options it doesn't suggest Target Prices or Sell Prices.

Your service more than pays for itself. Keep up the good work.

Thanks JoAnn

Just wanted to let you know that you have a valuable service/business. I have used your service for a few years and have come to count on your reliable information for trading.

Just thought you would be interested to know that Schaeffer's has stated this morning that the 5000 block trade on Nov. 7.5 calls yesterday was indeed a sale. (Yesterday they reported that it "appeared" to be a buy.) Looks like your computer model is more accurate than whatever they were using to judge the trade. Regards JJ

Nobody believes the economic info. going back at least a decade..garbage in garbage out...until beeziness gets better with Tech and Finanicials and some sanity hits the housing market..then it's off to the races again....

Thursday, September 05, 2002 3:05 PM

I've just been on your 2 week-trial and must admit that it's very proefessional and built upon good knowledge of the markets. I imagine to be a member by year's end.

One question though: do you issue Take Profit alerts when needed? It could be very useful.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

I LOVE that you put the REFRESHER back on...what a DELIGHT!!! Thank you

Thursday, August 22, 2002 5:59 PM

I notice that bullitens in "Active Trader" frequently refer to a trader having purchased so many "options" of a certain stock and at other times "contracts" are being refered to (see 14:24 FLEX, and 14:15 CSCO of today's bullitens for example). Is it your practice to distinquish between " numbers of contracts" and "numbers of options"?, or do you use these terms interchangably? There is of course a hundred-fold difference between an option and an options contract, and I don't mean to split hairs, but I'd like to be clear on exactly what it is that you are reporting.

Dear Stockwinners.com: I really appreciate you bringing back the auto-refresh. I like that option with my busy schedule.

Forwarding this for your amusement. I made a few bucks on your Ballard puts call a few weeks ago, and did much better also by directly shorting a thousand shares in early 2001 for a quick ten points (certainly wish I'd left that position open!). The New Yorker's Financial Page can be hazardous to your financial health.

Thanks for posting a call from Avalon, and I would appreciate it very much if you would give us subscribers as much timely info from them as you can. They have had some really good calls, especially on shorts.
Thanks, JJ

I have been using ...... and compared to you guys, man you guys rule the markets, monday morning you have a new member.

Thursday, June 06, 2002 11:32 AM

Re PLUG (and I just bought 12 June 7.5 puts at .45 at your suggestion): it's reported that some outfit named RBC Capital has just UPGRADED the stock from underperform to market perform. Their target: $SIX bucks. Yup, Six Dollars. Beg Pardon, but if that's an upgrade, I'm Alice in Wonderland. Yuk Yuk. JJ

I've been using your service for a few months and in general I am very pleased with it. You have given me a number of stock buys which, on balance have made substantial gains for me. I start with your picks and then add my own criteria and it seems to work very well.

One problem I do have with many of your picks is that they are very thinly traded. That can add substantial volatility and bigger risk than I can tolerate. Today's pick for instance (DBRN) has an average volume less than 50,000 shares. My average trade is $50,000, so for me, no matter how good the story, the logistics of getting in and out can cost me too much time and money to trade that pick. For the trader who is buying a hundred shares
I grant you it's not a problem, but how about putting the low volume factor into some of your screens for us heavy hitters.

Really appreciated the two-week trial you just gave me. I'm still too new at all this, not yet where I can afford subscriptions to keep me going, but, your trial taught me a LOT. I expect to be a subscriber by the end of the year.

Thanks again.

But I have a very funny feeling that the powers to be may want to add to their list of things to check into .... the home building and related industries that trade publicly. Why? Something tells me that former Savings and Loan Execs. are perpurtrating another sales job on the American People. They have taken a shower and changed clothes and will turn the American Dream into the American nightmare sooner rather than later...that's my guess...and I had some experience cleaning up some of the Savings and Loan problems a decade or more ago. Mark my word these execs have found a source of capital, the public markets, and will run it into the ground just like they did with the Savings and Loans...it's just a matter of when...later..

Y'all are still using the 1997-2000 market as a reference to chart action. Why not use the 1926-1929 market as a reference. That way y'all be comparing apples with apples. What I suggest is you start comparing the chart action of 1930-1941 and 1973-1982 markets. As for today's enviroment it would be a lot more relevant if we were to get more chart action on the those two periods. Or any drifting period but whatever you do no more 1997-2000 which will go down in history with the Tulip Bulbs....

Love the site - could you add dates to the "Split Picks" - when you notified the split potential?

First, thanks for a great service. I have been on board for about 2 yrs....

I do have a question about your success rating on Options. Exactly how do I translate 110% in 8 days on 382 options? I can understand the % gain, but 382 options in 8 days has me confused.

I want to thank you again for a great service. I have had subscipts that cost over 2 grand / yr. and yours still beats them all.....

thanks
Mike

I’ve subscribed to your service on at least two occasions. Prior to my most recent subscription, I watched the Active Traders page on a regular basis throughout the trading day. However, I do not play puts/calls. I’ve found the combination of the put/call info into the Active Traders page to be quite a distraction compared to the other information that’s shared there. Wasn’t there a time when the put/call info was tracked on a separate page … or has there been an overwhelming request from subscribers to have this information combined?

Thanks,

russells

Dear Stockwinners,

Thank you so much for the "watch this one" trade on OSIS, I played the April 22 1/2 calls at $130 per contract and sold at $190 not bad for 4 hours of work! You have been a wonderfull source of information and keep up the good work.

Friday, April 5, 2002 4:25 PM

I have to say that your service is outstanding for the money. No where have I seen that much data and very good recommendations. The market has been through difficult times lately, but you still beat them.
A job very well done

Rainer

To whom it may concern...

I am leaving tomorrow on vacation for 12 days. I will be out of the country. I am looking forward to joining stockwinners.com when I get back from vacation. Your service seems to be very reasonably priced for the information that is available as a member. Your trial membership convinced me that you run a very professional site. I will sign up when I return. Thank you. Luis

Sunday, March 24, 2002 4:05 PM

Hi I am Robert and have been a happy cusmtomer for the past six months. I was wondering if there were a way to put a reason for your option picks. If there is a technical reason, news or whatever. It would help me identifiy those which fit my style of trading.

Wednesday, March 20, 2002 7:40 PM

There may be a reason for all this low volatitility and light trading. How about Merrill Lynch limiting the number of trades under their unlimited trading plan to 200 trades and it's in arrears. So I know I'm only left x number of trades before I get hit with a $40 commission per trade. And even the Waterhouse's are charging $15 for limit orders and several other brokers are higher. The little guy is being blocked out for some reason. It's the little guy that made the previous Bull Market...bought on the dips because the commission bite was not that bad...well in an average/poor market with commissions going up and trade numbers being restricted...no wander there is little volatility and trading volume. Greenspan is going to run this economy back into the ground. The stealth regulators are working their way into our little trading cottage industry that has popped up over the last decade. That could be bad for the market.

Tuesday, March 05, 2002 10:28 AM

I like the rationale behing your stock picks, it is the same I have learned the hard way over the last three years. I assume there will be a charge for this service, although currently I am signed up for two week trial. What is it?

Tuesday, February 05, 2002 1:51 PM

Hello,

Just joined your free trial and gave it a go today and watched the intraday page. I just paper traded but was impressed on several reports that came out before the crowd...in particular MCRS and ZRAN. Better believe I will be following close tomorrow as well.

Thanks,

Jamie

You guys know #@!#. You are the reason the market sucks these days and is killing real people and real
families. The market isnt about making a quick buck, thats what casinos are for. The market is for companies to get some cash to bulid their future as well as help families build theirs. You wouldnt understand that concept however, since you are probably a liberal. One thing I can feel good about however, the people who listen to you deserve to get screwed as they are as dumb as you think I am.

Wednesday, January 16, 2002 10:32 PM

Dear Stockwinners,

I have subscribed to your service over the last two years and I am always learning new things. It is nice to have a site that sits on the same side of the table with you instead of some huge churn and burn firm. Thank you for the profit yesterday on your option pick, Winn Dixie Feb 12 1/2 puts I hit a nice double!!!! Also thank you for your timely e-mail updates on recent rumors.

Thank you,

Katie

Thanks for the free trial. I was impressed with your daily stock picks, however I wonder if it is just the time of year, end of summer in a brutal bear market, and the traditional time of year when stocks rise over time in the winter. I was impressive today in particular with the rise and selling of three or four of your picks. I must say I have learned how technical analysis does make a difference. I have been brutalized in the market of late, and will probably not be able to trade until some of my stocks stick their ugly heads above water after who knows how long. I will wait indefinitely until I feel more comfortable with trading. There is so much deceit in the stock market that I don’t know when or if I will actually pursue trading again or if I will just get pissed some day and sell it all. I will keep monitoring your daily picks, and see if the ones that have not reached their targets actually reach them. (1-30 days).
