20:03 EDT Fly Intel: Top five weekend stock stories - Catch up on the weekend's top five stories with this list compiled by The Fly: 1. Tesla (TSLA) has restored weekly output at its Shanghai plant to nearly 70% of the level which it had operated at before the city's COVID-19 lockdown, according to Reuters, citing two people familiar with the matter. The U.S. automaker, which added a second shift of workers in the middle of last week, is expected to increase output further this week, said the people. 2. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (NWARF) reached an agreement in principle with Boeing (BA) for the purchase of 50 737 Max jets, to be delivered when the carrier's existing leases end, Bloomberg's Siddharth Vikram Philip reported. The airline will take delivery of the planes between 2025 and 2028, according to a stock exchange filing Monday. Norwegian expects to finalize the order, which also includes options for an additional 30 aircraft, by the end of June, the author noted. 3. With about two-thirds of the stocks in the S&P 500 down more than 20% from their all-time highs and the index itself down 15%, many stocks are on sale, Al Root wrote in this week's edition of Barron's. But the stock market isn't like a clothing store, where bargains are happily scooped up, even if not all of them will look as good when you get home. Instead, when stocks are falling, many investors find it difficult to pull the trigger, fearful they'll pick a dud that only adds to the pain that's already afflicting their portfolios. But there are opportunities amid the rubble, the author noted. Among those who fit the bill, Root said, are Alphabet (GOOGL), Lam Research (LRCX), Meta Platforms (FB), Micron (MU), Netflix (NFLX), and Teradyne (TER). 4. Paramount's (PARA) "Top Gun: Maverick" scored the best Memorial Day opening of all time with a three-day domestic debut of $126.7M and $156M for the four days. Overseas, the Tom Cruise movie earned an estimated $124M from 62 markets - excluding China and Russia -, for an early global cume of $248M through Sunday and over $280M through Monday. 5. Bristol Myers Squibb (BMY), Chewy (CHWY), and Snowflake (SNOW) saw positive mentions in this week's edition of Barron's.
